Core EM is a leading academic project that unites the rigor of evidence-based medicine with the accessibility of modern digital learning. Emerging from NYU/Bellevue’s culture of innovation and frontline expertise, it offers a library of podcasts, concise core articles, journal reviews, videos, and structured courses designed for learners at every level of training. Each resource is developed by an integrated team of faculty and residents, committed to the FOAMed ideal of sharing knowledge freely and globally. With a reach spanning over two hundred countries, Core EM has become a trusted reference point for clinicians seeking clarity, depth, and relevance in Emergency Medicine education.
The project’s next phase focuses on expanding its academic footprint and deepening engagement. A forthcoming CME-accredited course will allow practicing clinicians to earn continuing education credit through a podcast-based course covering the fundamentals of EM. Parallel efforts include refining the Research Design Course for Clinicians, integrating adaptive learning tools, and establishing data-driven methods to evaluate educational impact. As Core EM evolves, it continues to model what academic medicine can be: open, innovative, and relentlessly committed to improving care through shared expertise.
